Tips for parents

Use fluoride toothpaste: a smear the size of a grain of rice under 3, and a pea-sized amount from 3 to 6.
Spit out the toothpaste, but do not rinse, so the fluoride keeps working.
Help or watch your child brush until about age 7.
Keep sweets and sugary drinks to mealtimes.
